I had a registered electrical company quote and install an inverter, batteries and a few solar panel on the roof, issued a COC, which included the alternate supply, but didn't register the system with the local municipality, is it compliant and will the insurance company insure the system ?
1/ The registered electrical contractor supplied the whole system, issued a COC which included the solar, but didn't register the system with Eskom or the local municipality.
2/ The customer, supplied the inverter, battery and solar panels, the registered contractor installed the system and issued a COC, but didn't register the system with Eskom or the local Municipality.
I am now told that the inverter is not NRS 097 complaint, so it cannot be registered as an SSEG, can I still insure the system, will it be covered if I do connect the non compliant inverter to the electrical installation and fit a SUB DB with a change over switch ?
