    [Question] Warning device

Does anybody know of a device that can give a warning before your prepaid meter is going to run out ?

Doesn't your energy dispenser have a flashing 'money' lamp or similar? My particular one has a lamp next to a symbol of a bulging bag of cash.....makes me wonder maybe the guys who designed it ten years ago could foresee the price hikes and fact that you would need a bulging bag of cash to purchase your power for the month.

i do know of a device which has 2 sharp spikes.... which clips onto the wires below the meter for when it is about to run out...made of genuine stainless steel insulated so you dont get elctricuted and so far is the best energy saving device i have seen to date ...unfortunately they are not available off the shelf...must be custom made and has the best return on investment

              No nothing of that sort.
Surely some audible device would do the trick. One beep every hour ?

Hi Murdock, this device can surely only warn when the power has gone off. How does it know you are running low ?

it still doesnt beat the cable joint at the base of the meter...but more dangerous much like the suicide cord...you need to know what you are doing...or dont pay your bill insist they pull the fuse on the road then you can put as many tee pieces in as you wish safely...bummer if your cable is under a tar driveway...so tip never run your cable under the driveway in case you decide to tar it...

tip if you do use the spike opition just be careful of overloaded the bridge piece

and if you have a floor mounted CDU on your boundry...man that would be like winning the jackpot.

You can fit a bypass switch just for temp purposes, reload the next day and switch bypass off. No harm in that sinse you are paying for Zimbabwe, Mozimbique and Zambia's electricity!
