Good morning everyone,im going to do a COC on thursday at the ECA in edenvale which is part for me to get my wiremans.
What i want to know is what do i have to do?do i need to take anything with me?its from 8-5 and you have to pass with 75%.I would just like some info.
As a matter of interest SparkyScott what did you have to do What tasks were done testing and calculating P.S.C and earth resistance etc. As an old timer past the sell by date I am curious
.
It's a all day course where you sit in class and listen,a guy from major tech went over a booklet about testing on how to do each test. Then we done a pre-test COC,in the afternoon we done the proper test and you can use all the info handed to you for help,it's also multiple choice.
INFO NOTES-OHS Act 1993
Earth Leakage Protection
Testing Electrical Installations
COC Pre-test
Then a COC which they go through with you on how to fill it in.
That's about it,the guy from major tech also has testers on show.
You will be fine, take notes on everything they tell you though, just take your time aswell! You have to wait 4weeks to get your COC result,I'm not qualified here yet, taking forever as im qualified already from Scotland,so there's loads of hassle!
Good luck Gei, just be weary of a trick question. Like a loop resistance where they have a resistor in the circuit to increase the reading. If it is not right do not sign the COC.
