I'm struggling to understand why, when connecting parrallel batteries, the positive to the inverter is taken from battery 1 and the negative from battery 2 or 3, depending on how many are in parralel.
Can someone explain, technically, why this is so and what will happen if both the positive and negative are connected to the same battery ?q
When you take both leads from one battery the current/power tends to come from the first battery and then it looks at the rest , so you tend to use more on battery 1 and end up with imbalance - same when charging , just in reverse
When you take the lead from first and last then you tend to force all the batteries to work the same and stay balanced
They talk about keeping the individual cells at not more then 300mv difference when charging and discharging and should be 0mv difference at standby , with 100mv difference being to high.
Another point to note that I follow, I keep all the battery wires the same length. This ensures that the current is balanced to all batteries.
I also use a battery disconnect switch on each battery. Makes maintenance easier.
