Formula 1 2008 - How close was that!

What a finish to the Formula 1 season this year! Lewis Hamilton had the championship, looked like he had lost it again on the last lap when Sebastien Vettel overtook him, and then got it back again in the last kilometer as he passed Timo Glock.

    Amazing stuff!

Hats off to Felipe Massa too - I thought his mixture of passion and sportsmanship in the post race interview was incredible.

it was one of the worst seasons in the history of Formula 1 history, classy drivers like alonso, raikonnen, kubica, were left behind by a british rash driver...i feel massa was aggressive but he was classy, unlike hamilton

Alonso just didn't have the car for the job. But based on his performance towards the end of the season he could be in the mix next year.

What was Kimi's problem this year, though? Because in his case you can't really blame the car.

Congrats to Hamilton. What a nail biter finish.

And my hat off to Massa - his post race interview showed a real sportsman - something a few of the other drivers, past and present, could learn from.

And even though if I don't really like Ferrari, and if I was not a Hamilton supporter, I would have wished Massa took the championship for the year.

Unfortunately F1 has degenerated over the years into a farce, often with the stewards, FIA or someone interferring with what would usually just be classed as a "racing incident" with no-one at fault - just so they can drag the decider of the championship right to the last race - it's all designed to attract the maximum number of TV viewers - reminds me a lot of the old WWF wrestling which, although staged ( still not sure F1 isn't ) had good clean entertaining fights. Now every championship match is marred with some joker ( or 2 ) jumping in the ring with a chair or spoiling a good clean fight one way or another. Not worth watching any more.

So I look forward instead to the A1 races where at least the playing field is a lot more even.
