I couldn't agree with you more.
Its just too bad that the Brother printer i wanted isn't available in SA
When i searched for a multifunction inkjet printer, the HP L7680 was recommended by two of the shops i visited and there were a lot of good reviews on the net as well. But the main reason i considered it instead of the Lexmark was the price per page.
This is printed on the box of the HP cartridge:
Which is total bull.
I used it mainly for copying and even at the lowest quality i never even got close to the 2450 pages per cartridge stated on the packaging.
Lexmark isn't far behind HP when it comes to pricing either, but they don't print such outrageous lies on their packaging, at least not what i'm aware of.

Print for up to 40% less than laser. (compared to lasers under $400)
