The installation of this earthing Terminal has been a requirement for some time now in new installations.
I have never seen one.
I have just read an article that specifically states that it is a requirement for an earthing Terminal to be fitted into existing installations, Sparks Magazine - April 2015 - Page 18. "The earthing terminal for other services - a piece in the jigsaw.

My question is "What does this item look like and where does one put it in a domestic installation?

I cant imagine an Earth Terminal bolted onto the DB Facia plate and having 5 copper wires dangling from it would compliment the decor of the lounge in a mid-floor townhouse unit.

Who has installed one of these and how do you go about it.
I believe it has to be bonded to the consumers earth terminal via a 6mm copper wire?

SANS 10142-1 2017 update

In SANS-10142-1 (2017), Section 6.11.5 now reads " A readily accessible earthing terminal may be provided...

So it looks like this has become optional then. Am I right?

There is still lots about putting up labels to indicate where it is and to mark it.

Not 100% correct.

On some installations this earthing terminal for other services is optional because of the words " may be installed"


However:


See Regulation 6.13.2.6. Other services such as water,gas,etc. in conductive material, which enter the premises, SHALL be bonded to the readily accessible earthing
terminal ( see 6.11.5 ) by means of a conductor of cross sectional area at least 2,5mm sq copper or equivalent.


From the above regulation it is clear that when the water or gas supply to the installation is in metal piping then the earthing terminal for other services is not optional. It is a requirement.

So why not mount the non conductive dish on a non conductive pole and save all the hassle and reduce the risk of "attracting" lighting... and all the hassle of the rules and regs with regards to earthing? This is what i am doing with the wireless bridges we are installing... mount them on non conductive poles and wow imagine that less risk of lightning... but we all knew that.
