So I'm getting into solar and starting with my own home.
Supply on my street is both 3 and single phase - not sure how they decided back in the day.
I have a 3 phase meter and supply and DB board. I don't have 3-phase machinery or need for 3-phase.
Solar would be simpler and cheaper to install on single phase.
Are there merits in blanking off the 2 other phases, just using one and converting my DB to single? I understand the load balancing issue to the municipality but I'm sure, in the bigger scheme of things, it won't make a difference.
Thoughts and pitfalls if any?
