    MAJOR TECH test equipment

Now I remember why I dont buy Major tech testers.

that saying if you want something done right, do it yourself.

IF you have an MT 250 and cannot get the unit to connect to your computer.

You need to get hold of the USB stick that comes with the new units which has the correct software.

IF you are using windows 10:

The software and drivers that Major tech send you will NOT work, they are missing setup files.

You must remove the software from your computer and restart the computer.

Once it has restarted, plug in the USB and click on setup, let it load and once the software is loaded, then go back and click on the drivers and run it.

Connect the MT 250 and click on date and time, then ok, after 3-5 seconds it is not "connected" the software and drivers are the problem.

If you are using windows XP

You just run the setup file and you dont need to install the drivers, it will automatically link to the device.

Would I spend R6000 plus on a MT 250, definitely not, it is only single phase, no wifi, no app to control the device, it still uses dos base software. and dots for the recording.

Comments are my opinion, unless regulations are attached to support the comment. This is social media, not a court room.

I don't know the unit specifically but at first glance I understand its a data logger.

I've had great performance from my Emporia unit. I can log 3 phase, access the web app, download data to a .csv file and also share the view with my client where I'm doing the monitoring.

From a business perspective it helps me size the inverter needed - it has a 15 minute maximum kW data readout and also tells me the clients energy usage pattern. This is useful to see night time energy usage as it obviously impacts on storage needed.

    I'ts dirt cheap by comparison. I added a 3rd 200A CT coil. https://www.geewiz.co.za/home-electr...a-sensors.html.

    Hope this helps someone.
    Cheers
