A couple of things here are that ECA are an association, their first obligation is to their members, that is why they have no authority over the illegals. They must also not be given that power. It is my choice whether I want to join an association or not. They have a bad history. Things are looking up but for how long. Maybe they had no choice but to accommodate. The DOL are the appointed watchdogs. They must lift their behinds & get active. Maybe CB will pay them a visit. Maybe a restructuring of the top brass of the ECA will make it a more attractive ass, so much so that the industry can take pride in being members and all register. They have the numbers but what have they done about the non-action by the DOL watchdogs? Legal contractors who rip people off must be exposed, I would also love to know how the protective device can be blamed for a faulty appliance. It is as absurd as taking you car for a service because it has a flat wheel??? I find it hard to believe how gullible the public are even though I see it on a saily basis.

dave i dont see a label indicating...in case of accidental....switch off main switch....on the main switch.

In my experience it's often the first thing that is removed by the occupants when we put in accessible main isolators
Same goes for "DB in cupboard" stickers.

We've tried stickers, inlaid lettering on white perspex, even inlaid lettering on brushed stainless steel... how can anyone think that's ugly?

Maybe I should try screening it onto the front face of the switch, although I've come to realise if someone in the house doesn't like the look of it, they're going to get rid of it one way or another no matter what.

I still say that the cabinetmaker should be electrocuted if he builds a cupboard over the DB. And the more confined it is the lower the amperage to make the time longer.

i agree...but it is the customer again who sometimes requests the db is hidden...


dave i was just in one of those moods when i did the reply...i also agree with you.

when you sit down and think about it...most of the cr*p customers have is their own doing...so why should we feel sorry for them.
